Western horror genre-blending film from S. Craig Zahler watched on Netflix. Cannibal B Movie.
Smart script, wry and terse- Tarantino-esque at times. Intelligent. Bloody and gutsy when it needs to be in short, sharp bursts. Couple of laugh out loud moments. Read somewhere that it was like The Proposition meets The Descent which sounds about right (maybe a touch of The Hills Have Eyes for good measure.) Violence is economic and brutally effective. Performances are strong- especially Richard Jenkin. Future cult film. Certain splitting scene might have made this a Video Nasty if it had been made in the 70s.
